Pushups For Charity, a nationwide movement, launched on Saturday, March 20th at Brookfield’s No Limit Health & Fitness. This event brought local businesses and residents together under one roof for one main reason…to raise money for the American soldier who has been severely injured in battle. With over 200 pushup sponsors and 20 pushup participants, could Pushups For Charity meet our aggressive goal?
I have the distinguished honor of hosting Connecticut's own Pushups for Charity event and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be one of the pioneers of this movement.
I am just 1 of 100 small fitness businesses around the country taking part in this great movement. Collectively we are out to raise a half a million dollars for the Wounded Warrior Project. That puts the individual goal at $5,000 each. Right now, as I am counting it up, we have collected over $8100.00.....and there is still more coming in!!! When it is all said and done, I am confident that Pushups for Charity Brookfield will have raised over $8500. Heck, I still have people contacting me just to make a flat donation for this great cause.
For every pushup that was completed at the event, sponsors donated .50 cents to $1 towards the Wounded Warrior Project. Not only were Brookfield residents involved, but residents from many of the neighboring towns made an appearance to take part.
There is no better feeling than being able to give back to those men and women who fight everyday for the very freedoms we enjoy. The energy in the room during the pushup challenge was through the roof with everyone coming together to cheer on the pushup participants. I am so blessed to be a part of such a great movement and a big thank you goes out to each and everyone who took part in assisting us with our goal.
